“The YPP allowed me to see what it is like to really work in IT in a company that has regular contact with clients, without having any previous experience. This opportunity made me gain the commercial experience that is so valuable in the market today, while also learning how to code at a high level, as well as how to work in a team, feeling responsible for every task given to me. Although I personally still consider my level of code writing to be low, I have learnt far more in these 3 months on the YPP than I could have learnt on my own at home or from any course bought online.

It’s an opportunity for young people to find their way in the world, right? My message is that you have nothing to lose and you have a lot to gain. Young Potential program is a program dedicated to young people that are starting this journey in the IT world. We have theoretical, practical lessons with mentorship from professionals at Macrix.
I spend 75% of my six hours each day on the project, so real tasks for real projects for real clients, so that’s nice. Currently, I’m involved in a project that is dedicated to make a 3D visualization of Hambach mine terrain and the project was done before, but the client requested to rebuild this project to make it available for all devices, so we are kind of changing only the code, but it basically is writing it from the start, but we know what it should look like. And the last two hours I’m spending on the YPP activities, so it’s theoretical lessons, practical lessons and self-studies.
The most important thing I think that I have here that I couldn’t get by myself is that professional mentorship. Every day I can just ask some experienced employee what is he thinking, how to solve this problem or what is it, and I’m gonna get the answer right away. I want to thank all Macrix employees, but the biggest gratitude goes to Paweł Kordaczuk, which is like my main mentor in my project, so he helped me a lot with every problem, he showed me tips, he gave me a lot of time to develop my skills.

I want to thank the HR team, because without them, I wouldn’t be here. I’m also incredibly grateful to my team members, whenever I faced a problem, whether it was something small or something more complex that required a lot of their time, they were always ready to help, to commit, and to put in the effort.
The Young Potential Program is designed for students and recent graduates who have some knowledge of IT and are eager to kick-start their careers. It runs for three months, from July to the end of September, and if you show enough commitment and you’re ready for it, there’s a real possibility to stay on afterward.
