On June 5th, Macrix had the pleasure of participating in the Job Fair at the Poznań University of Technology. This exciting event, held between 09:00-15:00, brought together 34 companies from various industries, including telecommunications, electronics, mechanics, transport & logistics, and of course, IT. Among the well-known participants were Unilever, Volkswagen, and Capgemini. Although the representation from the IT sector was limited, we saw this as a great opportunity to stand out and connect with ambitious students looking to start their careers in IT.
Our presence at the fair was led by a dedicated trio from different areas of the company:
- Marta, Software Developer
- Claudia, IT Recruiter and Academic Coordinator
- Dominika, Event Coordinator and Employer Branding Specialist
Together, they represented Macrix and actively promoted our Young Potential Program (YPP) – a tailored initiative designed to support university students in gaining real-world experience and developing their professional skills.
In preparation for the event, our Marketing & Sales department worked hard to ensure we made a memorable impression. A week before the fair, the team prepared a full set of promotional materials including a roll-up banner, flyers, branded gadgets, and custom-designed stickers that really caught the students’ attention. These materials played a key role in presenting our program in a fun and engaging way.
We were pleased to see a high level of interest from students throughout the day. Many stopped by our booth to learn more about the YPP, ask questions, and engage in meaningful conversations with our team. Our representatives were constantly on the move, explaining how the program works, what the application process involves, and how Macrix can support students in taking their first steps into the world of IT.
Attending the job fair was not just an opportunity to share what Macrix has to offer – it was also a chance to gain valuable insights into what today’s students are looking for in their future careers. We’re excited about the connections we made and look forward to welcoming new talents into Macrix.
Insights From Our Team
To give you a behind-the-scenes look, we asked Dominika and Claudia to share their experiences from the event:
Dominika:
The event turned out to be a great success. Our booth attracted a lot of interest from potential YPP candidates, who asked about our company culture and the types of projects we work on. The feedback from students was overwhelmingly positive. They were especially excited about working on real-life projects and being compensated for their efforts.
One highlight was a personality quiz we prepared – 10 questions covering working styles and soft skills like communication, conflict management, and time management. It was both fun and insightful, helping students reflect themselves and allowing us to spot potential matches.
Claudia:
The fair was very well organized, and we had many valuable conversations throughout the day. What stood out was the genuine curiosity students showed. They asked detailed questions and seemed excited about what we had to offer.
We handed out flyers selectively to students who showed real intent to apply, which helped us reach the right audience. As a result, we’ve received 28 direct applications from the job fair itself. In total, 120 students have applied to the program since we published the YPP job offer online on May 30th. Each applicant receives an invitation to complete an online test, which they must finish within three days of receiving it.
The recruitment timeline is well-structured: on June 16th, all applicants will be informed whether they are moving on to the final stage, which includes HR-Tech interviews held between June 17th and 19th. Based on the results so far, about five top-tier candidates have already advanced to this interview round. The final selection decisions will be announced by June 25th, and we’re excited to welcome the newest cohort when the 4th edition of the Young Potentials Program officially kicks off on July 1st.
Participating in the job fair was more than just promoting a program, it was a chance to engage, inspire, and connect with future innovators. We’re thrilled with the outcome and look forward to welcoming new talent through our YPP. We took the opportunity to create a survey aimed at understanding student expectations around internships.
